Only one month after the eighth edition of the Sparkassen ATP Challenger Val Gardena, the international tennis circuit will return to Ortisei for the $15,000 ITF Raiffeisen Val Gardena Südtirol held from 4 to 11 November at the local Tennis Club.

The tournament’s entry list is led by World No. 337 Sofia Shapatava of Georgia and Stefania Rubini from Italy, currently ranked World No. 340. The organizers announced that all four wild cards will be awarded to local players from South Tyrol. 14-year-old Laura Mair, Jeannine Hopfgartner from Brixen, Silvia Saccanini from Gais and Benedetta Ivaldi will be part of this year’s line-up.

Ortisei’s home hope, Verena Hofer, entered the main draw directly. Italy’s former U14 and U16-champion is ranked World No. 792.
