After nine successful events keeping fans entertained at its Tennis Village, the Mubadala World Tennis Championship (MWTC) is back with its 10th edition – bigger and better than ever before.
The International Tennis Center at Zayed Sports City is getting dressed up for this year’s tournament, which is set to take place between 28 – 30 December in Abu Dhabi.
With three days of fun activities planned, the Tennis Village is the place to be as fans and visitors get the opportunity to rub shoulders with the players and get their autographs.
Since 2009, the MWTC has been promoting the game amongst youngsters and day one is dedicated to budding tennis fans with activities planned all day to bring them closer to the sport.
Winners of the Mubadala Community Cup presented by Healthpoint will take part in the star coaching clinics, where Pablo Carreño Busta, Rafael Nadal, and Milos Raonic will show some of their skills to the “14’s and under”, “10’s and 12’s”, and “Adults” categories, respectively. The clinics are open to fans and visitors to view. Young fans can also enjoy a Q&A session with world number five, Dominic Thiem and tennis legend and MWTC ambassador Pat Cash.
Also on the opening day, fans will get the chance to attend an autograph signing session with current world number one Rafael Nadal. Each day, visitors can attend the player’s practice sessions and tennis clinics.
Like every year, Mubadala’s Interactive Zone will feature fun games and other engaging activities. Visitors can also experience installations and competitions from key sponsors including Etihad, Mercedes and Highland Spring.
The three-day event at the Tennis Village will also have a range of fitness activities to keep the crowd buzzing with excitement and there is plenty of food and beverages to go around with a number of food trucks available on site.
The MWTC will once again see the top tennis stars in action including current French and US Open winner, Rafael Nadal, 12-time Grand Salm winner Novak Djokovic, three-time Grand Slam winner Stan Wawrinka, world number five Dominic Thiem, US Open semi-finalist Pablo Carreño Busta and Wimbledon finalist Milos Raonic as they compete for the winner takes all US $250,000 prize.
