Great honour for the organizers of the Erste Bank Open 500. Tournament Director Herwig Straka and his team have received the ATP Award of Excellence in Marketing & Promotion for the perfect promotion and staging of the ATP 500 event held inside the Stadthalle in Vienna 2017.
“We are very proud to have been voted the tournament with the best marketing and PR strategy among all European ATP events. Especially our ‘NextGen campaign’ at the Stephansplatz, where Dominic Thiem, Alexander Zverev, Karen Khachanov and Andrey Rublev participated in a street tennis match, as well as the new tournament website and the promotion of the social media area made a strong impression,” said Straka, who received the award in Monte Carlo from Mark Webster, representative of European tournaments on the Board of Directors, and David Massey, ATP Vice President for Europe.
“Our marketing and PR activities also contributed to the fact that we were able to welcome more than 60,000 visitors to the Erste Bank Open 500 in Vienna’s Stadthalle for the first time last year. At the same time, the award is an incentive to ensure that the tournament will also be presented in the future in the best possible way with innovative ideas,” added Straka.
