Arevalo Victorious In Guadalajara

GUADALAJARA, April 23, 2018

Marcelo Arevalo clinched the singles title of the $50,000 Jalisco Open presentado por Aeromexico-Delta held on hard courts at the Polideportivo Metropolitana de Tenis in Guadalajara, Mexico. The 27-year-old from El Salvador fought past US-American young gun Christopher Eubanks, who appeared in his first ATP Challenger final, 6-4, 5-7, 7-6 on Sunday.

Arevalo withstood 18 aces, hitting seven of his own and won two points more than his opponent to prevail after exactly two hours of play.

Arevalo is 11-4 this year on the ATP Challenger Tour and took his third ATP Challenger title, his second of the season, earning $7,200 in prize money as well as 80 ATP ranking points.

Later in the day, Arevalo was back in action teaming up with Mexican Miguel Angel Reyes-Varela to clinch the doubles crown. The top seeds defeated Brydan Klein of Great Britain and Ruan Roelofse 7-6, 7-5. The final lasted one hour and 38 minutes.
