AIX-EN-PROVENCE, May 12, 2018

Two Australians will go head-to-head in Sunday’s singles final of the €127,000 Open du Pays d’Aix. Both came back from a set down to reach the climax of the ATP Challenger event in southern France.

Top seed John Millman rallied past Guido Andreozzi of Argentina 6-7, 6-2, 7-5. The World No. 70 broke serve seven times to prevail after two hours and 41 minutes.

Bernard Tomic fought past Elias Ymer from Sweden 2-6, 7-6, 6-4. The 25-year-old withstood 10 aces, hitting eight on his own to seal victory in two hours and 17 minutes. Tomic will appear in his first title match since finishing runner-up to Dominic Thiem in Acapulco 2016. He could lift his first trophy since Bogota three years ago. Tomic also won both of the two previous meetings with Millman. Their last match took place at the 2016 Australian Open.

Later in the day, Philipp Petzschner and Tim Pütz clinched the doubles title. The German duo battled past Guido Anderozzi and Frenchman Kenny de Schepper 6-7, 6-2, 10-8. The final lasted one hour and 33 minutes. Pütz lifted his fourth trophy of the season following his triumphs in Nouméa, Yokohama and Lille. Petzschner won in Irving earlier the season.
