Matteo Berrettini has advanced to his first final on the ATP World Tour. The 22-year-old Italian defeated Estonian qualifier Jurgen Zopp 6-4, 7-6(6) on Saturday to reach the title match of the J. Safra Sarasin Swiss Open in Gstaad without dropping a set.
Berrettini struck nine aces, winning 87 per cent of his first service points to secure victory in one hour and 19 minutes.

“I’m extremely happy,” said Berrettini. “The conditions were different today after the rain. I managed to raise my level and was fighting hard during the whole match. I’ve been playing a lot of important matches lately – winning a round in Rome, my first match at a Slam and more. I’m feeling well and excited about the final tomorrow.”
The Italian youngster will take on Roberto Bautista-Agut. The No. 2 seed from Spain fought past Laslo Djere of Serbia 6-7(5), 6-4, 6-4 in two hours and 40 minutes. Bautista-Agut advanced to his first final in Gstaad, seeking his 9th title on the ATP World Tour.
Berrettini will also compete in the doubles final teaming up with fellow Italian Daniele Bracciali. The pair will take on Denys Molchanov of Ukraine and Slovakian Igor Zelenay. The match will take place on Sunday after the singles final.
