HOUSTON, November 19, 2018

Championship Sunday was wild and wet as two champions of the Oracle Challenger Series were crowned in Houston. US-American Bradley Klahn emerged victorious 7-6(4), 7-6(4) over his wild card compatriot Roy Smith, landing an impressive 25 aces in the process. The No. 2 seed finished the final of the $150,000 ATP Challenger event after one hour and 35 minutes.

Klahn, who was the runner-up at the Oracle Challenger Series Newport Beach earlier this year, earns $21,600 in prize money as well as 125 ATP-Ranking points and moves into the top spot on the Road to Indian Wells leaderboard.

On the women’s side, veteran Shuhai Peng claimed her third career singles title at the George R. Brown Tennis Center at Rice University to go along with her 21 doubles titles. Her stunning 1-6, 7-5, 6-4 comeback victory over US-American Lauren Davis came after a rainy day of waiting to take the court that eventually forced matches indoors. Peng prevailed after two hours and 25 minutes. The 32-year-old from China collects $24,000 in prize money as well as 160 WTA-Ranking points.
