Denis Yevseyev from Kazakhstan is the last champion of the ITF Futures Circuit before the series will be re-launched under the new name “ITF World Tennis Tour” in order to finalise a new player pathway between junior and professional tennis.
The 25-year Almaty native clinched the title of the Kidsland Hong Kong F3 Futures held at Victoria Park Tennis Centre. Yevseyed battled past Chinese qualfier Xin Gao 6-4, 1-6, 6-4 in Saturday’s singles final.
The top seed of the $25,000 hard-court event sent down five aces and gained the winning break in the 10th game of the third set to secure victory in two hours and two minutes. Yevseyev, who is ranked at a career-high World No. 294, captured his fifth title in 2018. He was presented the winnig trophy by Mr. C Y Lee, Chairman of Kidsland Group.
