Returning Champion Kei Nishikori Commits To 2019 Hawaii Open

Defending Hawaii Open champion Kei Nishikori, ranked No. 6 on the ATP World Tour, has committed to play in the 2019 Hawaii Open Tennis Tournament, presented by the Hawaii Tourism Authority. The Hawaii Open will be held Dec. 27-29, 2019 in Honolulu.

Nishikori, who reached the quarterfinals in the 2019 Australian Open, has had an impressive career since turning pro in 2007. He is the only Japanese man to be ranked inside the top 5 of the ATP World Tour. Other career highlights include winning his 12th singles title in Brisbane this year, reaching the 2014 U.S. Open finals, as well as the reaching the finals in ATP Tour Masters 1000 level tournaments in Madrid (2014), Miami (2016), Canada (2016) and Monte Carlo (2018).

The 2018 Hawaii Open delivered an edge-of-your-seat finals match as Nishikori battled against current ATP World Tour No.15 and Canadian standout, Milos Raonic. Nishikori was able to outlast Raonic, defeating the Canadian, 76, 76.
