Following his second triumh on the ATP Challenger Tour, Paul earns $14,400 in prize money as well as 100 ATP-Ranking points. The 21-year-old US-American was only playing his fourth tournament of the season due to a quad tendon injury.
“This one feels good, I’m not going to lie. This one feels really good. Especially having the injury last year and coming back to win Charlottesville in October, but then getting injured again this year. I took a few months off again after Australia. It was really frustrating. But to come back again and win the title in my second tournament back is amazing,” Paul was quoted on the ATP Challenger Tour website.
Later in the day, Martin Cuevas of Uruguay and Italian veteran Paolo Lorenzi took the doubles crown. The unseeded combination upset the top seeds Luke Bambridge and Jonny O’Mara from Great Britain, winning 7-6(5), 7-6(6). The final lasted one hour and 44 minutes.
