Two Austrians captured the titles at the tenth edition of the KELAG Ladies Open & KELAG Power Future, an US-$ 20,000 combined event on the ITF Pro Circuit.

In the men’s singles final fourth seed Bastian Trinker defeated his compatriot Lucas Miedler for the third time in their third tour meeting, winning 6-4, 6-3. The world number 390 hit five aces and broke his opponent’s serve two times to seal victory in one hour and 36 minutes.

Trinker lifted his fifth ITF career title, his first of the season and was understandably happy with his week in his home town. “My game was a bit cautious today, but I played well in the decisive moments, which made the difference in the end,” the 25-year-old analysed.

“Until Umag, the season hasn’t been my best so far. So it’s great to get a bit of confidence by claiming the title here. It’s also very special and nice to win the home tournament,” Trinker told and added that he will continue to play on the Future Tour heading to St. Pölten next. “Then I will go to Egypt and after that, we will see.”

Miedler lost his fourth consecutive final of the season. “Basti served very well and I only had two chances to break his service and didn’t capitalized on them. Consequently, two breaks made the difference today,” the world number 588 said and will join his fellow countryman on his travel to St. Pölten. “I will play this Future and then the National Championships to end the clay court season. After that I will have a rest for one week, relaxing in the mountains before I am going to switch to hard courts,” Miedler told and also hopes for a wild card for the ATP 500 event in Vienna in October.

Fifth seed Julia Grabher took the title in the women’s competition. The 19-year-old Austrian upset top-seed Marie Bouzkova, winning 7-6, 6-1.

It was the second title for Grabher on the ITF Circuit after she had lifted the trophy in Vienna at the beginning of the month. “I didn’t start well, but I fought a lot and played a solid second set. The last three weeks were really good. I am absolutely satisfied with my performance.” the teenager told afterwards. “

“Next week I am going to play another US-$ 10,000 event in St. Pölten but my goal is to establish at the US-$ 25,000 events and cracking the top 300 as soon as possible.”
