USTA Player Development Hires Andy Gerst As National Coach, Women’s Tennis

USTA Player Development announced that it has hired Andy Gerst as a National Coach, Women’s Tennis. He’ll be based out of the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla., reporting to Head of Women’s Tennis Kathy Rinaldi.

Gerst has experience working with women’s and men’s players at multiple levels, from WTA pros to NCAA Division I collegians and top-ranked juniors. Most recently, Gerst coached WTA pro Danielle Lao, along with helping coordinate the junior tennis program at the Jack Kramer Club in Palos Verdes, Calif. In 2017, Gerst traveled with and helped coach the top-ranked doubles team of Bethanie Mattek-Sands and Lucie Safarova. He’s also served as an assistant coach for both the Florida State men’s and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo women’s programs, and has worked with a number of junior players that have gone on to have successful careers in NCAA college tennis.
