LONDON, June 19, 2019 (Press Release)

Persistent rain throughout the day cancelled all play on Day 2 at The Queen’s Club, marking only the third complete washout in the last 18 years of the tournament. It meant that the Fever-Tree Championships raincheck policy was enforced, meaning all of Tuesday’s ticket-holders would receive a full face-value refund. Details – www.fever-treechampionships.com.

Despite six hours of rain, everyone made the best of it. Tennis for Kids Correspondent, 9-year-old Vuk Vitić grilled Nick Kyrgios about his attitude, his underarm serve and his friendship with Andy Murray. It was the highlight of the day.

Elsewhere, the Bryan Brothers engaged in an indoor doubles practice session with Andy Murray, and kept fans entertained with a piano duet.

The washout leaves the Day 3 order of play largely unchanged, although there has been some re-shuffling. Juan Martin del Potro and Denis Shapovalov will open Centre Court at 12:00 noon, followed by Stan Wawrinka and Dan Evans. Top seed Stefanos Tsitsipas will be third on Centre Court, making his Queen’s Club debut against British No.1 Kyle Edmund. 2014 Champion Grigor Dimitrov will close out the day’s play against Next Gen star Felix Auger-Aliassime.

Due to the rain, Andy Murray’s highly-anticipated return to competitive tennis with partner Feliciano Lopez has been moved to Thursday. The pair will take the court against the top-seeded Colombian duo of Juan Sebastian Cabal and Robert Farah tomorrow.
