Couacaud And Kubler Reach Gatineau Challenger Final

No. 15 seed Enzo Couacaud of France booked his spot in the singles final of the Gatineau National Bank Challenger with his 6-2, 6-4 victory over 12th seed Darian King of Barbados on Saturday.

Couacaud struck nine aces at the Parc de l’Île in Gatineau, winning 81 per cent of his first service points to seal victory in one hour and five minutes.

This will be the Frenchman’s first ATP Challenger final of the year, with his last title dating back to September 2018. On Sunday, he will face the 10th seed Jason Kubler of Australia who defeated Joao Menezes of Brazil by a score of 6-3, 6-1 in only 56 minutes. This will be the first meeting between the two.

The doubles final was won by US-American Alex Lawson and Australian Marc Polmans. The No. 3 seeds of the ATP Challenger hard-court event Mexican Hans Hach Verdugo and Dennis Novikov from the United States.
