Andy Murray will compete at next week’s ATP Challenger in Mallorca. The 32-year-old Briton has accepted a wild card into the main draw of the Rafa Nadal Open by Sotheby’s International Realty in Manacor.
Murray, currently ranked World No. 329, will play his first ATP Challenger event since he retired in the quarterfinals in Mons, Belgium in 2005. The same year, he lifted his only two ATP Challenger crowns, winning the US-American tournaments in Binghamton and Aptos.

The event in Mallorca will be held for the second time at the Rafa Nadal Academy on hard courts. The tournament offers a total prize money of €46,600 and 80 ATP Ranking points for the champion. Bernard Tomic of Australia won the inaugural edition last year, as he fought past Matthias Bachinger from Germany in three sets in the singles final.
Admission to the tournament is free of charge.
