Three of the top four seeds advanced to the semi-finals of the LVII Copa Sevilla led by World No. 112 Jaume Munar, who received a walkover against fellow Spaniard Guillermo Garcia Lopez.

Munar will next take on Carlos Taberner, who fought past Inigo Cervantes from Spain, winning 3-6, 6-2, 6-3 on a rain-interrupted Friday in Andalusia. The 16th seed from Valencia capitalized on five of his 11 break point opportunities to prevail after almost two hours of play.

In the final two matches of the day, Salvatore Caruso held off the good run of 16-year-old Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz Garfia, who appeared in his first quarterfinal at ATP Challenger level. The No. 2 seed from Italy overcame a slow start to beat the teenager 4-6, 7-6(4), 6-4 after two hours and 41 minutes. Despite this loss, Alcaraz Garfia will break into the Top 500 of the ATP-Rankings on Monday.

Caruso will next face another Spanish youngster, as Alejandro Davidovich Fokina eased past Kimmer Coppejans from Belgium by the score of 6-3, 6-0. The 20-year-old Malaga native won 65 per cent of the total points played to secure victory in one hour and 27 minutes.

Coppejans, however, will be back on court on Saturday alongside Sergio Martos Gomes from Spain. The pair will take on local favourites Gerard Granollers and Pedro Martinez in the doubles final.
