Dominic Thiem is the first finalist of the THIEMs7 presented by Soccercoin tennis exhibition in Kitzbühel, Austria. The tournament’s host and top seed fought past Roberto Bautista Agut of Spain 6-7(5), 6-2, 6-2 in the stage of the last four on Friday.
“Reaching the final was my big goal. Today was a difficult match. Playing two and a half hours in hot conditions against a difficult opponent were tough,” said Thiem.
The second semi-final between Matteo Berrettini from Italy and Andrey Rublev was suspended due to constant rain with the Russian leading 6-4, 2-1. The match will resume on Saturday noon followed by the final and the third-place play-off.
