Oscar Otte continued his good of form in Friday’s semi-finals of the Tannenhof Resort German Men’s Series. The tournament is held on the clay courts of the Sport & Tennis Resort “Teremeer” in Meerbusch. Following a three-set victory over Cedrik-Marcel Stebe on Thursday, Otte defeated Yannick Maden by the score of 6-1, 6-2.
“I am very happy to play here so well. But I don’t think about winning the tournament. I only think from match to match,” said Otte. In the second match in Group A, Stebe beat Daniel Masur 6-2, 7-5, keeping his hopes alive to qualify for the final tournament in Großhesselohe in two weeks time.
Marterer, Hanfmann atop of Group B
Maximilian Marterer celebrated his second match win this week to take the lead in Group B. The 25-year-old from Nuremberg eased past Mats Rosenkranz 6-4, 6-1.
“Anyone can beat anyone here. Everyone has what it takes to win the tournament here,” Marterer said.
Earlier in the day, World No. 143 Yannick Hanfmann fought past youngster Rosenkranz 4-6, 6-2, 6-3. The match was suspended yesterday due to darkness and resumed with the start of the final set. Later in the afternoon, Hanfmann was back on STM Center Court and defeated Marvin Möller 6-2, 6-4.
