ROTTERDAM, October 26, 2021 (ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament Press Release)
After World No. 2 Daniil Medvedev, Stefanos Tsitsipas has also confirmed his participation in the 49th ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament. The 23- year-old Greek, ranked World No. 3, will be in action for the sixth time at the Rotterdam Ahoy Arena. The ATP 500 tournament will take place from 5 to 13 February 2022.
Tournament director Richard Krajicek: “There is a special bond between Stefanos Tsitsipas and the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament. In 2017 he made his debut on the ATP Tour with us. He will never forget that wildcard, which is why he now likes to come back to the Netherlands. Conversely, we would of course very much like to see him again. He combines a beautiful playing style with a unique dose of charisma.”

Tsitsipas in Rotterdam
At his first performance in Rotterdam in 2017, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga was too strong in the first round. Nevertheless, Tsitsipas made a big impression in his debut at the ATP Tour tournament. A year later, he failed to qualify for the main draw, but after that his development went quickly. He achieved his best result earlier this year, when he reached the semi-finals against Andrey Rublev, who eventually captured the title in Rotterdam.
