World No. 1 Iga Swiatek leads a fantastic line-up at the bett1open. The WTA 500 grass-court tournament will be held from June 12 to 19 at the LTTC Rot-Weiß in Berlin.
The 2020 Roland-Garros champion will be joined by eight more Top 10 players. “This absolutely outstanding field shows the importance that Berlin now has in the world of tennis thanks to bett1open,” tournament director Barbara Rittner said.
Berlin’s mayor Franziska Giffey will officially open the event on Sunday, June 12 when the main draw ceremony will take place, too. 500 refugees from the Ukraine, who had to flee the war in their homeland, were invited to attend it.
“During the bett1open, all eyes in the world of women’s tennis will be on Berlin,” Giffey stated in a press release.
