Otto Virtanen claimed the title of the Teréga Open Pau-Pyrénées. The 22-year-old from Finland defeated Leandro Riedi of Switzerland 7-5, 7-5 in Sunday’s singles final of the ATP Challenger Tour 125 tournament held at the Palais Des Sports De Pau.
Pau, nestled in the picturesque region of Nouvelle-Aquitaine in southwestern France, is a city brimming with charm, history, and natural beauty. Known as the “Gateway to the Pyrenees,” Pau offers a unique blend of urban sophistication and stunning natural landscapes.
Virtanen battled his way to the championship match through the bottom half of the draw with wins over French qualifier Tristan Lamasine, No. 6 seed Benoit Paire of France, local wild card entry Lucas Pouille and third-seeded US-American Brandon Nakashima.
In front of 4,000 spectators, Virtanen fired 11 aces in the final and won 80 per cent of his first-service points to prevail after one hour and 34 minutes.

By lifting his fourth ATP Challenger Tour career trophy without dropping a set, the World No. 172 earned €20,300 in prize money as well as 125 ATP Ranking points.
Harrison/Nakashima triumph in doubles
On Saturday, Christian Harrison and Brandon Nakashima captured the doubles title. The unseeded duo from the United States upset the tournament’s top seeds Romain Arneodo of Monaco and Austrian Tristan-Samuel Weissborn 7-6(5), 6-4 in one hour and 12 minutes.
Harrison and Nakashima split €8,450 in prize money and collected 125 ATP Doubles Ranking points.
