Rocha Reigns In Murcia

Portuguese teenager Henrique Rocha captured his maiden title on the ATP Challenger Tour by winning the V Challenger Costa Calida Region de Murcia. The 19-year-old came back from a break down in each of the final two sets to outlast Georgian qualifier Nikoloz Basilashvili 3-6, 7-6(0), 7-5 in Sunday’s singles final.

Rocha struck nine aces and won 64 per cent of his first-service points to prevail after two hours and 51 minutes.

The World No. 248, a winner of six ITF World Tennis Tour titles last year, earned €10,200 in prize money as well as 75 ATP Ranking points.

Basilashvili back in Challenger final

Basilashvili competed in his first Challenger final since his triumph at the Neckarcup in Heilbronn, Germany almost eight years ago. He was seeking his sixth Challenger career title in addition to his five triumphs on the ATP Tour and took away from Spain €6,015 in prize money and 50 ATP Ranking points.
