LONDON, April 17, 2024 (ITIA Press Release)

The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) today confirms that Chilean tennis player Fernanda Brito has been suspended for a period of six months and fined $10,000 for failure to co-operate with an investigation under the Tennis Anti-Corruption Program (TACP).

32-year-old Brito, who reached a career-high world singles ranking of 274 in 2018, was interviewed by the ITIA in 2023, but did not comply with multiple follow-up requests for information relating to an active investigation.

Section F.2.b of the TACP states that all Covered Persons must co-operate fully with investigations conducted by the ITIA.

Brito’s suspension began on 5 April 2024, and ends on 4 October 2024. During the period of ineligibility, the player is prohibited from playing in, coaching at, or attending any tennis event authorised or sanctioned by the members of the ITIA (ATP, ITF, WTA, Tennis Australia, Fédération Française de Tennis, Wimbledon and USTA) or any national association.
