The XXXIX Torneo BDO Tenis Playa de Luanco will take place from Monday, August 4, to Thursday, August 7, 2025, at La Ribera Beach. This unique beach tennis event in Asturias, Spain is organized by the Luanco Tennis Club, the Gozón City Council, and the Tournament’s Organizing Committee.
The event will include many activities on- and off-the court, emphasizing environmental awareness for young audiences and traditional acts such as cider pouring by players, celebrating Asturias’ cultural heritage following cider’s designation as Intangible Cultural Heritage.

International Tennis Stars in Luanco
Manuel Orantes, Manolo Santana, Richard Gasquet, Jiri Novak, and Cedric Pioline have all competed in the tournament. Winners of the Tenis Playa Luanco include Alex Corretja (1998), Carlos Moya (1999), Juan Carlos Ferrero (2000 and 2008), Fernando Verdasco (2005), David Ferrer (2009), and Pablo Carreno Busta (2022), among others. Last year, former top-10 star, Diego Schwartzman captured the title.
Meanwhile, the organizational structure of the Torneo BDO Tenis Playa de Luanco has been strengthened with new Area Directors:
- María García Menéndez leads Communication, Marketing, and Protocol.
- Carlos Ferrer Coto oversees Operations.
- Abel Mazuelas manages Infrastructure, focusing on setting up the beach court.
This revamped structure ensures continuity and innovation in delivering this iconic event.
