STARNBERG, July 4, 2026
The new season of the 1. Tennis Bundesliga Herren is ready to begin, with the country’s top ten teams set to battle for the German team championship starting July 5, 2026. The league once again promises a high-level blend of international stars, established German professionals, and emerging young talents.
The 2026 edition features several headline names from the ATP Tour. Clubs have reinforced their squads with elite players such as Luciano Darderi (ATP No. 16), Arthur Rinderknech (ATP No. 28), Valentin Vacherot (ATP No. 20), and Stefanos Tsitsipas (ATP No. 87), highlighting the league’s growing international profile and competitiveness.
At the same time, the Bundesliga continues to serve as a key platform for German tennis. Davis Cup players including Yannick Hanfmann, Jan-Lennard Struff, and Daniel Altmaier, along with top doubles team Kevin Krawietz and Tim Pütz, are expected to feature regularly throughout the season. The league also provides an important stage for rising prospects such as Tom Gentzsch, Justin Engel, Max Rehberg, and Diego Dedura, who will test themselves against world-class opposition in front of home crowds.
Defending champions TC Bredeney enter the season as the team to beat but face significantly increased competition. Several clubs have strengthened their rosters and will aim to challenge for the title in what is expected to be a highly competitive campaign.
The league will be played in a round-robin format, with each team facing all others over nine matchdays before the German team champion is crowned.
Two newly promoted sides, TC SCC Berlin and TC Augsburg Siebentisch, complete the lineup. Both earned promotion through strong performances and now aim to establish themselves at the highest level. Augsburg, in particular, has attracted attention after securing the signing of Stefanos Tsitsipas, bringing additional star power to Germany’s top division.
