The Tallahassee Tennis Challenger today announced that Lucas Poullain and Alex Knaff of Florida State University have been awarded a doubles wild card into the main draw of the 2019 Tallahassee Tennis Challenger.
Poullain, 23 of Nantes, France is a Redshirt Senior on the FSU Men’s Tennis Team and will be competing in the Tallahassee Tennis Challenger for the second year in a row. He has been named ACC Player of the Week in March 2017 and is an ITA Scholar-Athlete. In 2015 Pouillain reached the semi-finals in doubles of the Mouilleron Le Captif Challenger and in 2017 he reached the finals of a futures event in Tallahassee, FL.
Knaff, 21 of Luxembourg City, Luxembourg is a Junior on the FSU Men’s Tennis Team and will be competing for the first time in his career in the doubles main draw of a ATP Challenger Tour event. Knaff has twice been named ACC Doubles Team of the Week (2018 w/ Iradukunda & 2019 w/ Arcila).
“We are extremely excited to have Lucas and Alex take to the courts of the Tallahassee Tennis Challenger,” said Tournament Director Karen Vogter. “We can’t wait to have the community come out and support these young men.”
JC Aragone and Treat Huey have also received a doubles wild card, while main draw singles wild cards have been awarded to Sebastian Korda, Sekou Bangoura, Dennis Novikov, Alexander Ritschard, and Zane Khan. Jordi Arcanada has received a wild card into the singles qualifying draw.
The Tallahassee Tennis Challenger is an ATP Challenger 80 and USTA Pro Circuit event that will be celebrating its 20th anniversary this year and takes place April 22-28. Professional athletes from around the world will be competing for prize money, as well as valuable ATP Tour Ranking points.
