Mats Moraing claimed his second ITF Future title, winning the all-German-final of the 11th edition of the Vredestein Cup in Leimen against Jan Choinski.

The 23-year-old from Mulheim was more solid from the baseline, put more variety in his game and gained the decisive breaks against an in-form-opponent, who clinched the Future title in Forbach last week. Moraing converted his first match point after one hour and 40 minutes to seal a 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 victory.

“I served well, was wide awake in the right moments and also had a bit of luck in the end,” Moraing analyzed the match. “I am happy to be back, as I struggled with a couple of injuries in recent times, was sidelined from the courts for over four months. Now I feel well and I am satisfied with the result,” the world number 680 told and added that he will stay in Germany to play the next Future tournaments on home soil in the coming weeks.

Moraing takes away US-$ 1,440 in prize money as well as 18 ATP ranking points. On Friday, German tandem consisting of Tom Schonenberg and Matthias Wunner took the doubles title, winning the final 6-1, 6-1 against Andriej Kapas and Evgeny Karlosvkiy.
