M25 Reus ESP – Matteo Martineau prevails on clay 

The ITF WTT Autolica Mercedes Benz-Ciutat de Reus, held at the Club Tennis Reus Monterols, concluded with the title win of Matteo Martineau.

The 22-year-old Frenchman battled through the bottom half of the draw, beating Pol MartinTiffon from Spain in the stage of the final four in three sets.

US-American qualifier Emilio Nava edged out junior entry Shintaro Mochizuki from Japan, who was ranked junior’s World No. 1 and captured the title of the Junior Championships 2019 in Wimbledon, in the semi-finals in straight sets. 

Angers-born Martineau won ten points more in the title match than the former No. 5 in ITF Junior’s ranking to triumph 6-4, 2-6, 7-6 after two hours and 21 minutes. Following two title wins on hard court, the No. 6 seed celebrated his third career trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour and his first on clay.

M15 St. Petersburg RUS – Yanki Erel triumphs again on Russian soil

Yanki Erel clinched the trophy of the Grand Palace Cup by Formula TX hosted by the Formula Tennisa in Lakhta.

The Turkish lefty ended the successful run of Slovenian qualifier Martin Spec in the semi-finals in two sets.

Russian No. 5 seed Savriyan Danilov took the last step to the final by defeating Naoki Tajima, who was ranked World No. 8 as a junior, in straight sets.

Twenty-year-old Erel, who won the doubles trophy of the Junior Championships in Wimbledon 2018, outpointed his rival in the championship match 65-41 to secure a 6-1, 6-4 victory after one hour and 17 minutes. Following his maiden title win in Kazan last month, the Tekirdag native lifted his second singles trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour.

M15 Shymkent KAZ – Eric Vanshelboim clinches second trophy of the season

The M15 Shymkent tournament, hosted by the National Tennis Center, concluded with the title win of Eric Vanshelboim. 

The 19-year-old Ukrainian battled past Andrey Chepelev from Russia in the stage of the last four in three sets.

Last week’s Shymkent-champion and No. 2 seed Ivan Gakhov from Russia reached another final by beating Spanish No. 5 seed Jose Fco.Vidal Azorin in three sets.

No. 4 seeded Vanshelboim converted six of his eight break-point chances in the title match and lost one service game to avenge his final defeat last week by the score of 6-1, 6-1 in 65 minutes. The Sarajevo native, who lives in Alicante, celebrated his third career title on the ITF World Tennis tour and his second in 2021.

M15 Cairo EGY – Francesco Passaro captures his maiden title

Francesco Passaro emerged victorious at the Egypt Men’s Future, held at Al-Solaimaneyah Center in Cairo, to lift his first trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour.

The Perugia native won the semifinal clash between two Italian qualifiers against Luigi Sorrentino in straight sets.

Giacomo Dambrosi booked the spot in the all-Italian final with a straight-set win versus Polish No. 2 seed Daniel Michalski

Twenty-Year-old Passaro won 75 per cent of his first-service points in the championship match to prevail 6-1, 6-4 after 83 minutes.

M15 Antalya TUR – Nicolae Frunza dominates in Turkey

Clay-court specialist Nicolae Frunza clinched the trophy of the M15 Antalya tournament, hosted by the Club Megasaray in Belek, without dropping a set the entire week. 

The 23-year-old Romanian beat Sandro Kopp from Austria, who is based at the ESTESS Tennis Academy in Seefeld, in the stage of the final four in straight sets.

Qualifier Gianmarco Ferrari emerged victorious from the all-Italian semifinal-encounter versus Davide Galoppini in two sets.

Unseeded Frunza capitalized on six of his 13 break-point opportunities in the title match to seal a 6-2, 6-1 victory in 71 minutes. The Bucharest native celebrated his seventh career title on the ITF World Tennis Tour, all of them won on clay court.

M15 Monastir TUN – Franco Agamenone wins back-to-back titles in Monastir 

Franco Agamenone was crowned champion of the Magic Hotel Tours tournament, held at Hotel Skanes Family in Monastir.

The 28-year-old Italian, who celebrated his birthday during the tournament, stopped the run of Russian qualifier Savva Polukhin in the stage of the last four in straight sets.

Teenager Eliakim Coulibaly from the Cote d’Ivoire, who entered the tournament by junior exempt, made the last step to the final by defeating Maximilian Neuchrist from Austria in three sets.

Argentina-born Agamenone, who has represented Italy since 2020, broke his left-handed opponent’s serve six times by dropping two service games in the championship match to seal a 6-2, 6-3 win in 78 minutes. Following his title win last week at the same place, he lifted his seventh career trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour, his third in 2021.
