A new champion on the ATP Challenger Tour will be crowned as Nicolas Moreno de Alboran from the United States and Brazilian Matheus Pucinelli de Almeida will compete in Sunday’s singles final of the €45,730 Braga Open.
Moreno de Alboran, who battled through the qualifying of the €45,730 clay-court event, rallied past Timofey Skatov from Kazakhstan 3-6, 7-5, 6-2 on Saturday afternoon. The 25-year-old New York City native converted five of his nine break-point opportunities to secure victory in two hours and 46 minutes.

Pucinelli de Almeida defeated Dutchman Jelle Sels 6-2, 6-2. The 21-year-old Brazilian saved all three break points he faced and capitalized on four of his own six break-point opportunities to succeed in one hour and 28 minutes.
Kopriva and Pospisil earn doubles title
In other action, Vit Kopriva and Jaroslav Pospisil from the Czech Republic captured the doubles title. The unseeded duo the tournament’s top seeds Jeevan Nedunchezhi of India and Christopher Rungka from Indonesia 3-6, 6-3, 10-4 in one hour and 22 minutes.
By winning their fist Challenger team title, Kopriva and Pospisil split €2,670 in prize money and collected 80 ATP Doubles Ranking points.
