Australia’s most prestigious junior event, the December Showdown is underway at Melbourne Park with more than 180 juniors competing for national titles in the 12/u, 14/u, 16/u and 18/u Australian Championships which runs until Saturday 17 December.
The 14/u and 18/u champions were crowned over the weekend, with 17-year-old Stefani Webb (Melbourne, Vic) and 16-year-old Pavle Marinkov (Sydney, NSW), crowned 18/u champions. 14-year-old Daniel Jovanovski (Melbourne, Vic) and 13-year-old Sara Nikolic (Perth, WA) 14/u champions in the singles finals.
Play for the 16/u and 12/u events has started with the best players from around the country competing for national titles. The finals for both age groups will take place this Saturday.
