After seven years of hosting an ATP Challenger Tour event, the Therme Erding Open by Tannenhof will now feature a women’s tournament, scheduled from November 3rd to 10th, 2024, at the TC Ismaning. The entry list of the ITF World Tennis Tour W75 tournament, which will be held on carpet and offers a total prize purse of $60,000, was announced on Tuesday.

Key Players to Watch:

  1. Brenda Fruhvirtova (World No. 117): At just 17, the Czech starlet leads the entry list. Fruhvirtova, who has outpaced her older sister Linda (once a Top 50 player) in the WTA Rankings, is poised for further success. Brenda has already gained multiple titles on the ITF World Tennis Tour, cementing her place in the Top 100 at her peak ranking of 87.
  2. Daria Snigur (World No. 119): The 22-year-old Ukrainian captured the Wimbledon Junior title in 2019 and made headlines at her Grand Slam debut by stunning Simona Halep at the 2022 US Open. Her proficiency on fast surfaces makes her a strong contender at this indoor event.
  3. Ella Seidel (World No. 121): The 19-year-old German is in excellent form. Seidel recently won a significant ITF W75 event in Bulgaria and secured her first WTA 500 main-draw win in China. The multiple-time German junior champion trains at the national training center in Oberhaching.
  4. Kathinka von Deichmann (World No. 169): Representing Liechtenstein, the 30-year-old trains at the TennisBase Oberhaching. After overcoming injuries, she’s nearing her career-best ranking of 153.
  5. Marina Bassols Ribera (World No. 153): This 24-year-old Spaniard clinched two WTA 125 titles in 2023 (in Ljubljana and Andorra), making her one of the tournament’s favourites.

The tournament also features a strong German contingent Anna-Lena Friedsam and Nastasja Schunk will be part of the line-up. Friedsam, a former Top 50 player, is making a return from a knee injury, while Schunk aims to regain her form following shoulder surgery. Additional home favourites will receive wild cards.
