Frances Tiafoe is the champion of the €127,000 Open Du Pays D’Aix. The fourth seed from the United States overcome the tournament’s number three Jeremy Chardy of France 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 in Sunday’s final.
Tiafoe withstood 14 aces, hitting six of his own and rallied back from a mini break down in the tie-break of the final set to secure victory in two hours and 25 minutes. The #NextGenATP star takes away €18,290 in prize money as well as 125 ATP ranking points.
Tiafoe clinched his fourth Challenger career title and is the first player to win consecutive ATP Challenger titles on green and red clay since Federico Delbonis in Sarasota and in Milan in 2015. Two weeks ago, the 19-year-old from Florida lifted the trophy of the Sarasota Open.

On Saturday, Wesley Koolhof and Matwe Middelkoop from the Netherlands captured the doubles crown, winning the final against German Andre Begemann and Jeremy Chardy of France 2-6, 6-4, 16-14. The encounter lasted one hour and 24 minutes.
