After a rain-interrupted Friday at the €64,000 NECKARCUP, the conclusion of the quarterfinals took place on Saturday with Filip Krajinovic, Norbert Gombos and Lorenzo Giustino joining Guido Pella in the stage of the final four.
Norbert Gombos took out with Casper Ruud of Norway the last of the #NextGenATP Finals contenders competing in Heilbronn this week. The World No. 100 and highest ranked player left in the draw celebrated a 6-4, 7-5 victory in one hour and 18 minutes.
Next up for Gombos will be Italian Lorenzo Giustino. The 25-year-old is currently ranked on a career high World No. 186 and knocked out the tournament’s number seven Andrej Martin from Slovakia, winning 6-3, 7-5. Giustino sent down four aces and converted four of his eight break point chances to finish the encounter in one hour and 36 minutes.
Filip Krajinovic defeated Marton Fucsovics from Hungary 7-6, 7-6. The 25-year-old qualifier from Serbia won six points more than his opponent to prevail in two hours and one minute. He will next take on sixth seed Guido Pella from Argentina.
