The final eight went head to head on quarterfinals Friday at the ATP Challenger Open du Pays d’Aix.

Two of the three seeded players remained untroubled and advanced to the semi-finals in a comfortable way. The tournament’s number two Malek Jaziri won 90% of his first service points to defeat French qualifier Laurent Rochette winning 6-1, 6-1 in only 56 minutes.

Fourth seed Robin Haase ended the winning ways of another French qualifier beating Jonathan Eysseric 6-0, 6-4. The 28-year-old Dutch fired four aces to seal victory in one hour and 11 minutes. Jaziri and Haase will meet on Saturday for the first time on the tour.

Only eighth seed Alexander Zverev had some problems to overcome Andre Ghem. The 18-year-old German only saved five of eight break points he faced, but the Brazilian lost his service four times, that Zverev consequently emerged victorious winning 7-6, 6-4 in one hour and 37 minutes.

The German teenager will face French veteran Paul-Henri Mathieu on Saturday. The 33-year-old Strasbourg native ended the winning streak of Australian John Millman, who knocked out top-seed Blaz Kavcic in the opening round. Mathieu capitalized on four of his eight break points to seal victory in one hour and 39 minutes winning 7-5, 6-4.
