MIAMI, March 22, 2018

The bottom half of the men’s draw was in action on Wednesday at Crandon Park, which welcomes the Miami Open presented by Itaù for the 32nd and final time before the event moves to Hard Rock Stadium in 2019.

Swedish teenager Mikael Ymer, who entered the main draw with a wild card, claimed his first win at ATP Masters 1000-level in his second appearance in Key Biscayne. The 19-year-old Stockholm resident rallied past Jan-Lennard Struff from Germany 3-6, 7-5, 6-1. Ymer capitalized on five of his seven break point opportunities to prevail after one hour and 53 minutes. Next up for the World No. 407 will be No. 20 seed Milos Raonic of Canada.

After falling behind 1-3 in the decisive set, #NextGenATP US-American Michael Mmoh fought back to deny compatriot and wild card entry Christopher Eubanks. The 20-year-old qualifier won five of the final six games to seal a 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 victory in one hour and 49 minutes. It was Mmoh’s first at an ATP Masters 1000 tournament and just his third tour-level win.

“I would always grow up watching the Masters events, especially Miami. It was one of my favourite Masters events. Just watching it as a kid, and actually being here and winning a round, it means a lot,” Mmoh said. The right-hander from Florida will next challenge No. 12 seed Roberto Bautista-Agut of Spain.
