Angelique Kerber, who ended her professional career this year with the Olympic Games in Paris, will continue to contribute to German tennis. In the future, the 36-year-old will serve as an advisor for women’s tennis at the German Tennis Federation (DTB).
Kerber’s career spanned over 20 years on the Pro Circuit, where she achieved outstanding sporting successes, including three Grand Slam titles (Australian Open 2016, US Open 2016, Wimbledon 2018) and a silver medal at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.
Starting in 2025, the former World No. 1 will support female talent within the DTB and the Porsche Team Germany in the Billie Jean King Cup. She will act as an advisor, offering her extensive experience during training sessions and tournaments, particularly to players of the DTB National Team, the Porsche Talent Team, and the Porsche Junior Team. In her role, Kerber will collaborate closely with her former coaches, including BJKC captain Rainer Schüttler and Torben Beltz, who was recently named the new DTB head coach for women.
“I am grateful for everything tennis has given me and want to pass on my experience to the next generation. Our shared goal is to advance German women’s tennis,” said Kerber.
DTB Board Member Veronika Rücker added, “Integrating former top players into the DTB’s work is a key pillar in youth and competitive sports. We are proud and optimistic to have Angelique Kerber, one of Germany’s most successful tennis players, join the DTB. Angie was always a shining example for young players with her fighting spirit and passion on the court. Now, the next generation will directly benefit from her knowledge and experience.”
