HAMBURG/STARNBERG, April 22, 2026

The 2026 Bitpanda Hamburg Open has officially revealed its entry list in spectacular style, setting the stage for one of the most competitive editions in the tournament’s history. Under the motto “It all adds up in Hamburg,” tournament director Enric Molina presented the lineup during a groundbreaking immersive press conference at the Port des Lumières, a digital art venue in Hamburg’s Überseequartier.

In a first for the ATP Tour, the announcement took place amid towering, fully immersive projections, transforming the space into a dynamic visual experience where tournament imagery surrounded attendees on walls up to ten meters high. The innovative presentation reflected the event’s ambition to push boundaries both on and off the court.

On the sporting side, the prestigious clay-court tournament once again boasts an exceptionally strong field. Leading the lineup are four Top-10 players: local favorite Alexander Zverev, Felix Auger-Aliassime, reigning BMW Open champion Ben Shelton, and former Hamburg winner Lorenzo Musetti. In total, eleven of the world’s Top 20 players are set to compete, resulting in one of the toughest entry cut-offs the tournament has ever seen.

Particular excitement surrounds the return of Holger Rune, who is making his comeback after an extended injury break. Defending champion Flavio Cobolli will also return to Hamburg, aiming to retain his title and become the first player to lift the newly unveiled trophy, inspired by the iconic roof of the Center Court.

Ben Shelton arrives in top form following his recent ATP 500 triumph in Munich, where he defeated Cobolli in the final. The American is considered one of the hottest players on tour and a strong contender in Hamburg. The field is further strengthened by notable names such as Karen Khachanov, Tommy Paul, Frances Tiafoe, Jakub Mensík, Jack Draper, and Denis Shapovalov, alongside rising Brazilian talent Joao Fonseca, representing the next generation of stars.

German fans will also have reason to celebrate, as the successful doubles team Kevin Krawietz and Tim Pütz returns to the Rothenbaum, where they previously claimed the title two years ago.

Off the court, organizers continue to enhance the fan experience. A new premium hospitality area, the “Players Sky Lounge,” will offer guests exclusive access with a unique vantage point overlooking the court and close proximity to the players. Additionally, the inaugural “German Tennis Day” on May 18 promises a festive atmosphere, with Zverev and other German players expected to take center stage amid a vibrant black-red-gold celebration across the venue.
