Frenchman Quentin Halys and Jerzy Janowicz of Poland will compete in Sunday’s final of the €64,000 Internazionali di Tennis Trofeo Faip-Perrel in Bergamo.

The seventh seed from Boulogne-Billancourt defeated Andrey Golubev of Kazakhstan 7-6, 7-6. Halys sent down seven aces, winning 79 per cent of his first service points to advance to his third ATP Challenger final in one hour and 32 minutes. Halys finished runner-up to Santiago Giraldo in Fairfield in October last year after he had captured his maiden trophy in Tallahassee five months earlier.

Janowicz, who entered the main draw with a wild card, eased past Filip Krajinovic of Serbia 6-3, 6-3. The 26-year-old from Lodz fired 12 aces, didn’t face a break point, converting three of his own to seal victory in only 68 minutes. Janowicz eyes claiming his sixth ATP Challenger career title, his first since Genova last year. The pair will meet for the first time.

Earlier on Saturday, Julian Knowle from Austria and Canadian Adil Shamasdin defeated Dino Marcan of Croatia and Austrian Tristan-Samuel Weissborn 6-3, 6-3 to clinch the doubles title. The encounter lasted one hour and four minutes.
