Halys Hoists Teréga Open Pau-Pyrénées Trophy

Home favourite Quentin Halys is the champion of the 2022 Teréga Open Pau-Pyrénées held at the Palais des Sports de Pau in southwestern France. The No. 7 seed of the €90,280 ATP Challenger 100 hard-court tournament rallied from a set down to outlast eighth-seeded Canadian Vasek Pospisil 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 in Sunday’s singles final.

Halys struck 14 aces and won 75 per cent of his first-service points. The World No. 142 from Bondy broke his rival four times to seal victory in two hours and seven minutes.

Halys captured his fourth ATP Challenger career crown, his first since Nanchang, China in April 2018. The 25-year-old earned €12,250 in prize money as well as 100 ATP Ranking points.

In the doubles draw, Albano Olivetti of France and David Vega Hernandez from Spain won the title after receiving a walkover from the all-Polish combination of Karol Drzewiecki and Kacper Zuk.
